OPERATING PRINCIPLE
How Threaded Bushing Works
This type of reducing bushing features **external threads (NPT/BSPT/BSP) on its outer diameter, with a smaller-sized internal thread (NPT/BSPT/BSP) at its center.** During installation, the larger external thread is screwed into an existing female-threaded connection, and the smaller-sized component is then screwed into the internal thread of the bushing. This is the simplest method for reducing thread size without requiring modifications to the entire piping run.

What is cast hexagonal reducing Bushing?
Cast hexagonal reducing bushing (Hex bushing) is a cast pipe fitting with male thread on outside and female thread inside, used to reduce pipe size on threaded piping. Hex outer profile allows easy wrench installation. We produce it by investment casting / malleable iron casting, different from forged hex bushing. Sizes range from 1/8” ~ 4” , male × female reducing sizes for piping system.
What thread standard for market? Can you supply NPT thread?
Yes, BSPT thread (ASME B1.20.1) is our standard for orders, fully compatible with threaded pipe.NPT/BSPP thread available as optional upon special request. Threads are machined after casting, gauged with thread gauges before shipment.
What material grades are available for projects?
– Stainless steel cast: CF8(304), CF8M(316), ASTM A351, for corrosive fluid
Pressure & temperature rating?
– Cast stainless steel 304/316: Class150 standard, higher class can be quoted separately

What media can cast hexagonal bushing handle?
Clean water, compressed air, non-corrosive oil, gas. Galvanized malleable iron for general plumbing & HVAC; cast 304/316 stainless for mild corrosive liquid. Not suitable for heavy slurry, abrasive particles or strong acid/alkali unless stainless steel material selected.
What is the Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)?
Small-batch orders are accepted, and different sizes can be mixed within a single order.
What is the lead time?
Typically, shipments are dispatched within 7–15 days of receiving the deposit, depending on the order quantity.
Installation tips for hex reducing bushing?
Male thread connects to larger pipe, female connects smaller pipe. Use proper pipe sealant / PTFE tape on male thread. Wrench torque on hexagon surface only, do not torque by thread to avoid thread damage. Can be installed on horizontal or vertical piping.
